Description

Straight EAA capture - saved as seen in SharpCap 4.1.  This one was surprisingly faint with the Askar130PHQ.  There was a moon in the sky and IC 433 was only about 30° above the eastern horizon (my worst view of LP).  Still, the L-Ultimate was able to capture some OIII along with the H-alpha.

This SNR is one of my favorite DSO's.  Past experience has shown that this one is pretty bright and that's what I expected with the Askar130PHQ.  Somewhat surprisingly, it was very dim and was barley visible after even 5 minutes with a fairly aggressive stretch.  The L-Ultimate is proving to be a winner for pulling out the fainter OIII bits though - much better than I could do with my L-eNhance.  I get hints of the Veil nebula from the streamers on the western edge (the left in this capture) near the bright variable star Eta Geminorum (Propus, 3.29m - 6.15m).

For comparison, I captured this view with my Askar FMA180 + ASI294MM-Pro + 7nm Optolong H-alpha last year (12/2022).

Title: IC 443 (EAA capture with some processing)

Description: Same session, but I let this one run for 2.7 hours and did some post-processing in GIMP.
